Dan Morrison to Lead SCV 2024 Creative Team
The Creative Team for the Santa Clara Vanguard is by and large the same as in past years, though there is a reasonably significant shake-up at the top. SCV has announced that Dan Morrison, Program Coordinator for Ronald Reagan (TX), among other notable programs, will be stepping in to lead. Dan wrote to our staff, “It is a dream come true to have the opportunity to work with this team of world class designers, and I can’t wait to get started!”
He is also the former director at Reagan, working with that program starting in 2010 and taking over as Head Director and Program Coordinator from 2015 to 2021. During this time, the band garnered many accolades, such as invitations to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Rose Parade, and the Midwest Clinic. Additionally, they set the record for the highest score at a BOA Regional/Super Regional with their 2019 Production.
Morrison is coming to Santa Clara in place of Scott Koter, who reportedly had already planned to leave SCV following the 2022 season. However, that was overshadowed by their announcement that they would not be touring. Following today’s announcement that they would be returning to the field in 2024, this hiring should get fans of the Vanguard even more excited for the season to come.
